I was visiting the Delta Hospital with my mother a couple of days ago. While she was undergoing x-rays I decided to visit the healing garden located near the main entrance of the hospital. I had spent some time with the local Evergreen Garden Club planting and tending the garden so I wondered what it looked like now. Check out the fall colour on the trees combined with the deep wine colour of the Sedum planted below. This healing garden is in a courtyard where patients, visitors and staff can all come to visit and enjoy its beauty. Last year I was in this hospital for two weeks and enjoyed the warmth this garden provided along with its beauty.
I was able to manoeuvre the whole garden in my wheelchair so that was nice. Even though plants are going dormant there is a good mix of grasses and evergreens retaining the beauty of this garden all winter long. What a nice garden to visit with its pond and rock gardens. There is even a sitting area complete with an arbor.
Whether you are a patient or just waiting for a family member, this is the place to be on a sunny morning anytime of the year. Grab a coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet of this healing garden.
