Everyone asks me what my favourite plant in the garden is. This is one question most gardeners have trouble with. There are just too many to choose from. How does one decide?
I find myself loving whatever the new blooms are that week.
This week its my roses. Most of them were growing here when I moved to this home so I have no idea what their names are. I have a mix of old climbing roses, hardy shrub roses and hybrid teas.
One of my all time favourites is the one that I see from my kitchen window. I anxiously wait for this one to bloom each spring. Its blooms are apricot coloured and its fragrance is sweet and spicy.
My Laura Ford mini climber is one that graces my front door. It only grows to about seven feet and its yellow fragrant blooms welcome guests to my home.
The first rose of the season was this old climber. It was all I could do to convince my hubby to let the branches hang down a bit. Now I can walk over and actually smell the roses.
